How can counseling help me?
Every person that comes into therapy has a unique life story and history. I am here to listen deeply and ask crucial questions that clarify your current situation, and help you understand how your past stories inform you about life. Using neuroscience-based and emotionally focused counseling, I offer new ways of looking at life, giving you tools that are proven to facilitate change.
I love working with couples and families. I find that when more than one person is in the change process, they can offer assistance and support to each other, sometimes leading to a faster rate of change.
Can working with you help me in my career?
Yes! I've worked successfully with executives, helping them see through the clutter of the corporate world, wondering if and where they fit in. I love working with highly intelligent people who need to improve their communication skills.
How do I know you'll understand me?
I come from a stance that holds that all people are doing the best they can. I offer encouragement and ask people to be open and to look at ways of thinking and relating that are holding them back. I am supportive of lgbt and multi-cultural couples and families. My own family is diverse and my graduate thesis was on intersectionality.
